About Rufus
RUFUS is a transparency-first donation project that supports shelter dogs through practical, measurable help. When you donate, we deliver support and publish proof. Our model is simple: turn community support into real food and prior-agreed essentials for partner shelters, documented openly.
Where the name comes from
"Rufus The Churchill" was inspired by Winston Churchill s beloved dog. Rufus represents loyalty, companionship, and the kind of steady friendship a dog can be.
Our mission
To support dogs in partner shelters through regular food support and prior-agreed essentials, backed by clear public reporting that donors can trust.
How we measure impact
We report the real kilograms delivered as the most objective measure. For easier understanding on the website, we also use an approximate planning unit: 1 Nutrition Unit = 150g of dry food delivered. Because dogs differ in size, health, and activity, Nutrition is an approximate guide; our reports always show the real kilograms.
Why we start with shelters (not street feeding)
We begin with partner shelters because this is the most reliable and verifiable way to deliver help. Shelter support is easier to document clearly, reduces misuse risk, and allows us to maintain consistent proof standards.
Street dogs - phase 2
Our current focus is partner shelters, because this is the most reliable and verifiable way to deliver support. As RUFUS grows, we may expand to carefully verified street outreach using the same proof standards: photos, confirmations, and public reports..
Our transparency promise
After each delivery we publish photos, delivery confirmation, and a short report with total kg delivered and the approximate Nutrition count.
